Corporate Integrity Agreements

A Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA or IA) is an agreement signed by a provider with HHS-OIG, which mandates certain compliance and reporting requirements for the provider in exchange for not being excluded from Federal healthcare programs. CIAs serve as an excellent middle ground for times when a provider may need administrative sanctions, but total exclusion from Medicare and Medicaid is too drastic or infeasible. However, providers should understand that they can negotiate with OIG about the specific requirements of each CIA. As well, providers must be sure to meet the strict compliance and reporting requirements or else face significant monetary penalties.

Liles Parker can help negotiate your CIA with OIG and also serve to coordinate, draft and submit your Initial and Annual Reports and associated documentation. Call us today for more information.
