Annabella Denzel, J.D., B.A.

Practice Concentration and Experience:

Annabella Denzel is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and attended the University of Texas at Austin where Ms. Denzel graduated magna cum laude and obtained a BA in political science, concentrating on healthcare disparities and systemic breakdown, and with a minor in the philosophy of law. Since July of 2018, Ms. Denzel has called Charleston home.

Ms. Denzel earned her J.D. from Indiana University McKinney School of Law's Hall Center for Law and Health in December 2024. During her studies, she held leadership positions on the National Lawyers' Guild and Lambda Law Society chapters, serving as chapter representative for nationals and treasurer respectively, served as a student executive board member for the Indianapolis Bar, and was an active member of the Health Law Society. Ms. Denzel also briefly served as student representative to grand rounds speakers for the Hall Center for Law and Health.

Ms. Denzel is licensed to practice law in Indiana and is pending admission to the South Carolina Bar. Her practice focuses on regulatory compliance, with particular emphasis on federal Medicare and Medicaid compliance and appeals. She handles matters at all levels of the federal appeals process, from Redetermination through the Medicare Appeals Council. Ms. Denzel represents clients nationwide. Ms. Denzel brings extensive experience in medical billing, coding, and compliance, and holds two professional accreditations: Certified Medical Compliance Officer (CMCO) and Certified Professional Coder (CPC). Her regulatory experience encompasses False Claims Act matters, the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), and Stark Law. Ms. Denzel also intends to grow her pre-existing experience in clinical research compliance, identifying and resolving inconsistencies or compliance deficiencies in research project proposal prior to and during Institutional Review Board (IRB) review.
